Gnocchi Pan with Brussels Sprouts

Thursday is, once again, time for our organic vegetable box. This time, I expect to have as well kale as Brussels sprouts in it. Actually I already checked out the homepage of our organic vegetable box supplier, which is the Gemüsekiste vom Bioland-Betrieb Kampfelder-Hof. How I prefer to prepare kale these days I already told you last week. So today it is time for the Brussels sprouts. Actually a few weeks ago I was inspired by one of the recipes which always come along with our vegetable box. With a few changes this recipe turned out to my current favourite Brussels sprouts recipe.

In the past, I almost never used Brussels sprouts for cooking. Whatever the reason, I thought they were bitter and boring. Fortunately, in the meantime I changed my opinion. And since I have tried the gnocchi pan with Brussels sprouts for the first time, Brussels sprouts became even one of my favorite vegetables. Sometimes I also like to nibble them raw. The nice thing about the gnocchi pan is that it is also a very easy and quick to prepare recipe. This is certainly also because I like to use for this dish gnocchi from the fresh counter, although homemade gnocchi would be, of course, perfectly fine.

But the way I prepare it, you just need to blanch the cleaned and quartered Brussels sprouts, froth some butter in a pan, add the Brussels sprouts and some roasted pine nuts, season and at the end you also add the cooked gnocchi to the mixture. And then it is already time to enjoy your meal.
