Apple-Pancakes with Rolled Oats

Lets talk about breakfast today. What kind of breakfast type are you? Are you the one who rushes out of your home in the morning and may have some breakfast on your way to work or do you prefer it not to leave your home before having some breakfast? And do you have any preferences like sweet or savory? Or, what about something warm for breakfast? For me breakfast is a very important story and I do not like to miss it in the morning. Somehow I already feel much better prepared for all those little daily adventures when I have started the day with a proper breakfast. During the week I mostly have some muesli with banana or other fruits and yoghurt before I go to my office. But when it comes to the weekend I just love to have also some warm breakfast. It makes the weekend even more special because of this little difference. And besides this, it also adds that special comfort feeling to me.

Currently the man of my choice and I often have porridge from rolled oats with purĂ©ed fresh fruits like apples, bananas or mangos for breakfast, since he had discovered this recipe in one of the online magazines he uses to read and which usually have nothing to do with food or nutrition. I guess that some of you might have had at child porridge for breakfast. I did not have, but maybe that’s also a reason why I have become such a big fan of this kind of breakfast now. Right now I can only think of one other breakfast dish which causes similar feelings and these are pancakes, especially when they come along with ahorn syrup.

And lately I discovered a recipe for apple pancakes with rolled oats in my mums recipe collection from the 50ies, which seems to be the perfect mix of my current favourite breakfast dishes. I directly had to try it so that I can present you now the result now, which is very tasteful but also very richful. Thus these oatflake pancakes might be also something for lunch and besides this they are simple to prepare. Therefore, just try them out and enjoy it.
